Illness be gone

Part of the reason I have been missing in action:

I had been battling a major sinus infection (or so I thought) since my trip to Little Rock. Two different antibiotics and steroid treatments later, I had a relapse again. The third and final trip to the doctor (I hope) resulted in my diagnosis with Mono.

Before you laugh too hard, I did not cheat on LML. My guess is that I caught it from my tendency to share food and drinks with anyone. (Lesson learned and I will not be so eager to share in the future since I can pass this virus to people even after I recover.)

The doc in the box ordered me three days of IV antibiotics and steriods in addition to a stronger oral antibiotics. LML was at the doctor's office with me since I was miserable. Let's just say that he now understands why I dread doctor's offices. I spent over an hour with three different nurses and four different attempts to locate veins. (What can I say, I was born with it.) I am feeling pretty good right now, just tired.

I just have to spend the next few weeks trying to take it easy. It seems that is harder for me that I realized. I get really bored easily when it is me and the dogs at home alone during the week.
I am very grateful that my work is flexible and allowed me to work less hours while I recover.
So that is my update on life lately.

It's my birday

As my good friend put it, it's my birday! Well it was! I am now the BIG 26!

Anyways, I had a blast at my birthday parties! I am a lucky girl in that I got two celebrate twice, one with friends and the other with family!

I got some fabulous presents. I will share more over the next few days!

This Cole Hahn purse was from my great aunt and I love it. She has great taste and never disappoints.

Have a good day! Toodles!
- I should blame it on the iphone, but this girl cannot spell so please excuse any misspelled words

The Great Cell Phone Debate

Currently, LML and I use a wonderful cell phone service called T-M*bile...I love their prices and their customer service.  I am not a fan of their cell phone choices but the prices are out of this world!

Well, LML started his new job and unfortunately it involves living a RURAL area.  Cell phone reception there is spotty...I want to be able to talk to my love any time and know that his phone rings and will work!  The problem is that everyone in that Rural area has my former cell phone company that I never loved and now has the added problem of dropped calls.  I am not willing to deal with dropped calls, especially since they are prevalent in my town.

So here comes my big concern.  According to the maps, it seems Verizon has added some towers in said rural area and made it an option for coverage in that area.  I have not heard any negative thing about Verizon's service in my town either.  The catch is that I know absolutely no one in LML's locale that has Verizon....This was not option a few years ago so most people go with my former company whose customer service was not my fave!

Verizon does have one big downside and that is their prices...they rival my former company.  I should mention though that I would choose the Apple Cell phone that I love!  They also have the option to have unlimited data which would be nice for me since I do not even have internet at home.  I miss internet...even if it must be through my cell phone!

So I keep debating if I am going to make the switch next month or not...Any feedback on Verizon would be greatly appreciated!

Bad Blogger

Sorry I have been a bad blogger, I have lots to share.  And I finally purchased a new card reader so pictures should be here tomorrow!

Before I go all update on you this week, I thought I would share a funny story with you.

LML has a 1999 Chevy Tahoe that he has driven since I started dating him.  (I am not judging since I have a 2003 Camry that I love...)  His new job has him driving at least 50 miles a day (commute to and from work).  That means he drives my Camry and I get to drive the Tahoe.  I grew up driving SUVs, especially GM made ones.  I love them.
I know that one day when we have kids, I will want an SUV.  Today is not that day.  I miss my good gas mileage car.  One where I did not think about making quick trips to places not convenient to me. I miss my fill-ups being only $40 dollars max at the pump.

Well LML's car has had it's ups and downs over the past few years.  Currently we are are saving to get him a new car, specifically he wants a camry.  In the mean time, I suffer (not really) through driving his old vehicle.

This week his car started leaking coolant (read: antifreeze).  Since I am alone in hometown while he works elsewhere, I have to be the one to take it to the shop.  They tell me what it is and work a deal for me.  We decide that since it is not major, we fix it.  I call LML to find out where the keys are to old 1976's jeep that used to be his grandfather's.  He tells me and as I am getting in the car with my ride, he calls back and says, "I am going to be in so much trouble!  I put the CLUB on the car!"
I was thinking OK not my favorite thing to unlock but I can do it.

He then elaborates, "Yeah, I  umm....took the key with me!"
Insert angry face and annoyance in my tone, "You are in BIG trouble!"

So I spend the next thirty minutes trying to find a ride to the town where my grandmother and parents live, in order for me to borrow one of their extra cars.  I should mention that it is STORMING and no one was coming up or going back!

LML finally redeems himself by asking his mother if I can borrow a car from her.  Believe me when I say he definitely was up a creek without a paddle.  (This is probably exasperated by my recent experience of him taking off with the key to the gas cap. I drove 45 minutes on empty to meet him at a gas station!  It was not my favorite memory!)
