Brain Dump

I finally finished up my posts about my weekend in Atlanta and here goes a brain dump on stuff that I have been wanting to share:

2. Spring is in the air...I am so excited because LML is supposed to buy my two new Hydrangea plants to replace the ones he killed last year! Nico Blue, please....

3. Besides being excited about my new plant, LML and I are switching phone carriers pronto!  Verizon works great in the rural area of Alabama near LML's job!  I am excited and cannot wait to have better reception.  I should also add that we decided (i.e. I told him) to go ahead and get me an iphone.  I am so tired of no internet at home so this solves it!  Wahoo!
Do you have any app recommends?  I have a few on my ipod but not too up on them since I just got Angry Birds this month.

4.  Speaking of Angry Birds...Can we say addictive?  I am so obessed with that game!

5. My birthday is in April and I am so excited!  I know that my 26th birthday is nothing too special, but birthdays always make me excited.  I hope to have dinner at the Bright Star with a few friends and family!  I love that place! (if you do not know, it is the oldest restaurant in Alabama and Greek style food...so delic!)

6. My good friend J's little girl is celebrating her 1st birthday in April too! I am going to take some photos for her just like I did last year right after she was born.  I will ask J if I can post a few pictures from last year to show you how precious the little one is!

7. Have a great weekend...This weekend is a low-key one for us.  Just hanging out around the house and going to look at cars to replace LML's old one finally.

I am that girl

This morning is a BUSY BUSY day at work culminating a busy few months.  I am ready for tomorrow already because the craziness will cease!

In other news, I have also been working hard on my local Junior League Provisional Class project.  It is coming along but it seems to have consumed my life for a bit.

 I also started driving the Old Green Jeep.  It cracks me up because I have to let it run for a bit before I can drive it.  Then I have to only slightly press the gas pedal or else it stalls.  Did I mention it is an automatic?  I never knew a normal automatic could stall.  After about 5-6 minutes of running, the jeep is finally ready for my to really push the gas....Hence this morning, I scrambled to get it started prior to going out the door. 

It should probably be mentioned that I had to be at work quite early for me (i.e. at 7 am).  And my muffler needs work, thus makes loads of noise.  The same noise that my guy friends in my hometown pay money to have their trucks make.  You definitely can hear me before I ever reach you...This is not a vehicle made for stealth operations.

I normally pick up breakfast through a Drive-Thru on early mornings at work for myself and my coworkers to help us make it through a long day.  Today and until LML gets a new car and I get mine back, that is NOT an option!  I would have to have a back seat rider to accomplish the drive-thru!  My driver's main window does not roll down since the gears are stripped. 

At least, the little triangle window in the front does open because this makes up what I now lovingly refer to as my air-conditioner!  I also am thankful for the tape player and my ipod, since the radio does not pick up any stations. 

Despite my complaining, the jeep is not a bad vehicle and actually brings back fond memories of my father's Jeep CJ-5.  My father faithfully drove this everyday from 1977 when he bought it second hand until her inherited my great-grandmother's Bonneville in 1992.  It was disgusting and messy since it was his car.  It also needed a paint job back then (still does today) because the paint was like chalk and came off in your hand.  And it had no heat in the winter!  I still remember riding in it for my first day of school. 

My dad still has his jeep with the dent on the passenger side from where he hit a tree while I was sleeping against that window...Painful memory!  I do have to say it does make me feel better to know that my jeep actually requires a key to start it unlike my fathers. 

Anyways, BACK TO WORK!

Bad Blogger

Sorry I have been a bad blogger, I have lots to share.  And I finally purchased a new card reader so pictures should be here tomorrow!

Before I go all update on you this week, I thought I would share a funny story with you.

LML has a 1999 Chevy Tahoe that he has driven since I started dating him.  (I am not judging since I have a 2003 Camry that I love...)  His new job has him driving at least 50 miles a day (commute to and from work).  That means he drives my Camry and I get to drive the Tahoe.  I grew up driving SUVs, especially GM made ones.  I love them.
I know that one day when we have kids, I will want an SUV.  Today is not that day.  I miss my good gas mileage car.  One where I did not think about making quick trips to places not convenient to me. I miss my fill-ups being only $40 dollars max at the pump.

Well LML's car has had it's ups and downs over the past few years.  Currently we are are saving to get him a new car, specifically he wants a camry.  In the mean time, I suffer (not really) through driving his old vehicle.

This week his car started leaking coolant (read: antifreeze).  Since I am alone in hometown while he works elsewhere, I have to be the one to take it to the shop.  They tell me what it is and work a deal for me.  We decide that since it is not major, we fix it.  I call LML to find out where the keys are to old 1976's jeep that used to be his grandfather's.  He tells me and as I am getting in the car with my ride, he calls back and says, "I am going to be in so much trouble!  I put the CLUB on the car!"
I was thinking OK not my favorite thing to unlock but I can do it.

He then elaborates, "Yeah, I  umm....took the key with me!"
Insert angry face and annoyance in my tone, "You are in BIG trouble!"

So I spend the next thirty minutes trying to find a ride to the town where my grandmother and parents live, in order for me to borrow one of their extra cars.  I should mention that it is STORMING and no one was coming up or going back!

LML finally redeems himself by asking his mother if I can borrow a car from her.  Believe me when I say he definitely was up a creek without a paddle.  (This is probably exasperated by my recent experience of him taking off with the key to the gas cap. I drove 45 minutes on empty to meet him at a gas station!  It was not my favorite memory!)
